Rebuilding Together was originally founded in Midland, Texas in 1973. In 1990 Christmas in April was established with the home office in Washington, D.C. and grew to an organization with affiliates in all 50 states. Two years ago Christmas in April changed its name to Rebuilding Together.
Rebuilding Together focuses on improving and repairing homes that are owned by low-income, elderly, or disabled people. The organization is based on the fundamental belief that all people deserve to live in decent, safe housing. It is the leading national volunteer organization working in partnership with cities and businesses to rehabilitate low-income housing. Our goal is to keep people living in warmth, safety, and independence.
