Our chapter has several ways to volunteer. From leading the crew to using your valued
skills as a crewmember, you'll be able to give in a way that best suits your skills and
schedule. Listed below are the various roles individuals like you can play in our efforts
to make another's life a little better. After you've decided which role works best for
you, fill out and submit our online form or download
it, fill it out, and mail it to our office.
We'll make sure to contact you soon after you let us know you're interested. We look
forward to making a difference with you!
Exercise your leadership skills!
House captains act as general contractors for the house they are assigned. They determine project scope and decide the number of volunteers and what skills are necessary to successfully complete their projects. House captains are also responsible for purchasing, with our funds, all necessary supplies for the homes they are assigned. Typically, buying begins a month before project day.

Do you have special knowledge of home repair?
Skill captains are either a journeyman home repair specialist (such as a plumber, electrician, carpenter, heating & ventilation repairman, etc.) or an individual with extensive experience in an area(s) of home repair. Skill captains may be assigned to a single house or travel to several homes on project day.

Are you good with people?
Ambassadors are responsible for signing in volunteers, making sure each fills out all necessary forms, and communicating with the recipient. This role is critical to the comfort level of the recipient, which can be a challenge to maintain given the fast pace of project day activities.

Be a part of the team that makes it happen!
As a house volunteer, you'll arrive on project day, take your task assignments from your house captain, and dig in! You're on the job for the day doing small tasks, large tasks, or assisting skill captains. Being a house volunteer is a great way to help when all you want to do is arrive and get to business of helping.
